Arthur Hash
ARTIST'S STATEMENTBorn in 1976, in Balboa, Panama, Arthur Hash is already accomplished as an artist. He has won several awards, been included in exhibitions all over the country, and has studied and traveled all over the world. He completed his MFA in 2005 at Indiana University, and received his BFA in 2001 from Virginia Commonwealth University. He now returns to VCU as a full-time adjunct instructor in Craft/Material study, Sculpture and extended media and Painting and Printmaking. His work comes from a commitment to participate in the contemporary exploration of what jewelry is and can be, while retaining the sense of elegance and beauty found in the long tradition of body adornment.VELVET DA VINCI SHOWSBadges & Buttons Waistcoats & Vests -- Curated by Elizabeth Turrell & Robert Ebendorf Monochrome Noir -- Curated by Michael Dale Bernard and Tara Locklear The Pendant Show -- Celebrating 500 Pendants and Lockets by Lark Books The Plastic Show -- Celebrating 500 Plastic Jewelry Designs by Lark Books Virtual / Tangible v2.0 -- An Exhibition of Digital Works by Jewelers and Meta-Smiths COUNTRY OF RESIDENCEUSA EDUCATIONIndiana University, 2005, MFA Virginia Commonwealth University, 2001, BFA SELECTED EXHIBITIONSSELECTED SOLO EXHIBITIONS Arthur Hash, Quirk Gallery, Richmond, VA, 2007 Bridge 9, Three Person Solo Exhibition, Society for Contemporary Crafts, Pittsburgh, PA, 2006 Instance, Solo Exhibition, Quirk Gallery, Richmond VA, 2006 Conversations, A Fuller project, Solo installation, Indiana University, Bloomington IN, 2003 Vessel Contents Subsist, Solo Exhibition, Virginia Commonwealth University, Student Art Space, Richmond, VA, 2001
