Arthur Hash

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Born in 1976, in Balboa, Panama, Arthur Hash is already accomplished as an artist. He has won several awards, been included in exhibitions all over the country, and has studied and traveled all over the world. He completed his MFA in 2005 at Indiana University, and received his BFA in 2001 from Virginia Commonwealth University. He now returns to VCU as a full-time adjunct instructor in Craft/Material study, Sculpture and extended media and Painting and Printmaking. His work comes from a commitment to participate in the contemporary exploration of what jewelry is and can be, while retaining the sense of elegance and beauty found in the long tradition of body adornment.
